SHIFT BOOT COLLAR \ RETAINER INSTALL GUIDE



TOOLS REQUIRED
15mm Wrench
Allen Key Set
Interior Trim Removal Tools
Blue Loctite




1 \ REMOVE YOUR SHIFT KNOB
Remove your shift knob this is either OEM or a Raceseng knob. The OEM knob may require some strength to get loose from the shifter arm.



2 \ REMOVE ADAPTER
If you already have a Raceseng shift knob installed please remove the Raceseng adapter using the 15mm wrench. If you had a OEM knob installed you can skip this step.



3 \ INSPECT YOUR SHIFTER ARM
Take a close look at the threads on your shifter arm and clean if nessecary.



4 \ REMOVE YOUR SHIFT BOOT
Remove your oem shift boot from the center console, this varies depending on your vehicle. We recommend using google to find removal instructions tailored to your specific vehicle. Having interior trim removal tools is very helpful in this step to not break any plastic clips.



5 \ PREPARE YOUR SHIFT BOOT
With the shift boot removed from the center console flip inside out.



6 \ INSTALL SHIFT BOOT COLLAR \ RETAINER
Place your Shift Boot Collar \ Retainer into your shift boot so the bottom of the collar \ retainer (part with no o-rings) is poking out of the opening of your reversed shift boot.



7 \ TIGHTEN ZIP TIE
Using the supplied zip tie you want to secure your the shift boot to the collar \ retainer. Once you have the zip tie secure you want to trim excess zip tie and then flip the boot right side out. You should now only see the collar with Raceseng and the R icon along with the top part of the collar \ retainer that has the o-rings sticking out the top of your shift boot.



8 \ REINSTALL YOUR SHIFT BOOT
Reinstall your shift boot assembly with the Shift Boot Collar \ Retainer placed as low as possible onto the shift arm.



9 \ APPLY BLUE LOCTITE
Apply a small dab of blue loctitie to the threads on your shifter arm. Using too much blue loctitie will not allow it to dry and thus not work properly.



10 \ INSTALL THE ADAPTER
Thread the adapter onto the shifter arm by hand than use a 15mm wrench to install the threaded adapter all the way down and tighten it onto the shifter arm. Make sure the adapter is tight!



11 \ LET IT DRY
Let the blue Loctite set-up 10-15 minutes, then proceed to the next step.



12 \ INSTALL THE KNOB
Install the shift knob by screwing it onto the adapter till its snug. If you have an engraved shift knob follow the steps below to align the engraving.




13 \ PRESS IN SHIFT BOOT COLLAR \ RETAINER
Once you have the shift knob completely installed and engraving in the correct orientation (follows steps below) you take your shift boot collar and rotate to have your desired look. A helpful tip is to grab the shift boot attached to the collar to hold still and slowly rotate the collar \ retainer either aligning the Raceseng or R Icon. Once you have your collar \ retainer in your desired orientation you can grab the sides of the collar and lift up into the bottom of the shift knob (this can be a little difficult since we are using o-rings that create a tight tolerance to remove any chance of rattle or falling out).




14 \ ENJOY THE DRIVE

ENGRAVING ORIENTATION

1 \ HOW IT WORKS
The shift knob bottoms out on the top of the flat head screw. Turning the screw clockwise or counterclockwise will rotate the shift gate pattern the same amount and direction the screw was turned. Follow the steps below to adjust the shift gate pattern.



2 \ TAKE MEASUREMENT
Take note of how many degrees clockwise or counterclockwise the shift knob orientation is off



3 \ REMOVE SHIFT KNOB
Unscrew the shift knob. Use a 4mm allen wrench and turn the flat head screw the same amount of degrees in the direction the orientation is off by. If the engraving is pointed to the right turn the screw out or counter clockwise and vice versa for other direction.



4 \ REINSTALL SHIFT KNOB
Check your orientation adjustment by threading the shift knob onto the adapter.



5 \ REPEAT TILL PERFECT
Check your shift knob orientation. Repeat step 1 if further adjustment is needed.
