1 \ REMOVE YOUR SHIFT KNOB

Remove your shift knob. Refer to google to find vehicle-specific removal instructions.

2 \ REMOVE YOUR PINCH CLIP

Pry the silver pinch clamp apart, in order to remove the factory shift knob.

WARNING: Do not depress the factory gear selector button during or after removal.

If this happens, the knob can not be reused.

3 \ LOCK GEAR SELECTOR

Use a paper clip or safety pin to lock the gear selector button up.

NOTE: VW techs recommended this. If this isn’t possible, simply be sure to take measures

to prevent pressing the button during removal.

4 \ REMOVE YOUR OEM SHIFT KNOB

Carefully lift up the factory shift knob to remove it from the shift arm.

5 \ REMOVE YOUR OEM SHIFT BOOT COLLAR

Separate the factory knob assembly from the boot. Use a zip-tie to compress all 4 tabs on the

factory knob at the same time. Use a screwdriver to gently pry up on the boot retainer

at each seam. Prying on the actual boot material could damage the outward appearance of the material.

6 \ PARTIALLY INSTALL SHIFT BOOT

Reinstall your shift boot back onto the vehicle but do not fully install or clip onto the center console.

It will need to be lifted up for installation around the adapter later on.

7 \ PREPARE ADAPTER FOR INSTALL

Remove the two top Allen key bolts before you place the adapter onto the shifter arm.

8 \ INSTALL SHIFT KNOB ADAPTER

Place the shift knob adapter onto the shifter arm, and take notice of where the hole is on the

plastic piece on the OEM shifter arm. You want to align the two bolt holes of the

screws you removed in the previous step with the holes in the plastic piece on the shifter arm.

9 \ REINSTALL TOP SCREWS

With your adapter in the correct orientation for the bolts to go through the plastic piece

reinstall your top bolts so they pass through the plastic opening. This can be tricky

but these bolts need to be screwed far enough in that they are flush with the adapter.

10 \ PREPARE FOR ADAPTER FINAL INSTALL

Once you have the top screws fully installed press down on the top half of the adapter so the

plastic piece inside the shifter arm is fully depressed. With the plastic piece fully depressed

you want to grab the lower section of the adapter where the collar is located and pull up. Make sure you are

not raising the top half of the adapter at the same time this will not allow the vehicle to enter the park.

11 \ INSTALL LOWER SCREWS

Once you have the top of the adapter at its lowest point and the bottom of the adapter at its

highest point you will want to tighten the bottom screws to attach the adapter to the metal of the shifter arm.

12 \ BOOT CRACK ELIMINATION

With the adapter fully installed and tight you want to lift your shift boot up and inside out

over the adapter until the small opening is tight under the bottom of your adapter. Use the supplied

zip to secure your shift boot to the adapter under the integrated collar. Trim the zip-tie with a side cutter.

13 \ FINAL INSTALL OF SHIFT BOOT

Now that the shift boot collar is attached to the adapter you can fully install your shift boot back into the

center console.

14 \ INSTALL THE KNOB

Install the shift knob by screwing it onto the adapter till it's snug. If you have an engraved shift knob

follow the steps below to align the engraving.

15 \ DISCLAIMER

Please note. In order to eliminate the potential for the undesirable rattle and loose fitment,

our DSG adapter has very tight tolerances. This means that there will be a break-in period

for the o-rings. You may need to manually push your knob down after selecting your gear until the

adapter is broken in.

ENGRAVING ORIENTATION

1 \ HOW IT WORKS

The shift knob bottoms out on the top of the flat head screw. Turning the screw clockwise or

counterclockwise will rotate the shift gate pattern in the same amount and direction the screw was turned.

Follow the steps below to adjust the shift gate pattern.

2 \ TAKE MEASUREMENT

Take note of how many degrees clockwise or counterclockwise the shift knob orientation is off.

3 \ REMOVE SHIFT KNOB

Unscrew the shift knob. Use a 4mm Allen wrench and turn the flat head screw the same

amount of degrees in the direction the orientation is off. If the engraving is pointed

to the right turn the screw out or counterclockwise and vice versa in other direction.

4 \ REINSTALL SHIFT KNOB

Check your orientation adjustment by threading the shift knob onto the adapter.

5 \ REPEAT TILL PERFECT

Check your shift knob orientation. Repeat step 1 if further adjustment is needed.

6 \ ENJOY THE DRIVE

Test drive and enjoy your new shifting experience!
